    uhm… I think it’s ‘a’ in hiragana alphabet? Well, I think you already know that since it’s already like a couple of days now…? But, hope this helped. :) I’m only 13 too. XD

    thanks soooo much! i’ve been trying to find a katakana and hiragana, etc. alphabet so i can learn the sounds and start identifying words. nowhere i’ve looked has had one, they’re all in romanji, which is nice, but i think will stunt my learning, like a crutch. thanks again, keep up you work guys, its appreciated

    @clarizza jane daian
    hey if you really want to go to japan i think the best way to go is through a program like you could go during the summer,for a semester or a year and you could live with a family. so you really dont have to worry about a thing and im pretty sure that its cheaper than going alone or with someone and worry about every single thing.heres the website if you like

    @Holly
    That character is ‘a’ in Hiragana, not Katakana. Hope I helped you. ^^ Honestly it’s the first character I learned how to read, and from there I’ve been getting better, I get some confused, but I think I have Hiragana pretty much down. Now I have to learn Katakana and the big ‘ol toughie, Kanji. Dx Romanji is too easy already being that it’s in English characters. xD

    June 30th, 2011 at 17:49 | #23

    @Kristin
    I recommend that if you can’t even read Romanji, you need to start there. (Japanese using English letters.) If you can, then it’s better to start learning Hiragana now. Then after that work on Katakana, then try for the big toughie, Kanji. Kanji is based on Chinese characters, so it’s the hardest to read. Dx I can only read few characters of it myself…. it’s very hard to read…. :( But I’m still learning Katakana, and pretty much learned all Hiragana, so yay! xD

    @emily
    Hiragana actually. Although Hiragana and Kanji are used together a LOT. So if you ever plan to do some serious reading of Japanese, you need to learn both, Katakana isn’t used as often except for foreign words (Pretty much English words) and names.

    @kayla
    Your name would be written as: “Ke-i-ra” or just “Ke-ra” It depends on how exactly you say your name. :3
