Listening
February 18th, 2009
Let’s get you primed for learning Japanese! In this lesson you will learn the basic sounds of the Japanese language, and then listen to some sample conversations so you can begin to “get an ear” for it. It is important to note that while you can learn the basics of Japanese at this website, it is crucial that you PRACTICE, and STICK WITH IT if you really want to make any progress.
Japanese is a very different language from English and it may be frustrating at times, but if you stick with it, the rewards will be well worth your time! Ganbate (good luck)!

oh yeah, and is my japanese good?
hi aron i what to asked you about night clubs in japan how are they like and what kind of people go there
@elias
To be honest, I’ve never made it to a nightclub in Japan. I’ve been to plenty of Izakaya and night spots, but never a real ‘club.’ Kevin has been though. From what I understand, it really depends on the club. You might check this link for more info: http://www.starforest.com/clubbing/clubs/index.html
Konichiwa,
My name is Jessica and I have been living in northern Japan for about 5 1/2 months. My husband is in the ariforce and we live off base in a great town. I have been learning the language as best I could on my own, but you guys have helped greatly! I took a tip from Kevan’s snowboarding adventure and have begun to add words I have picked up from daily interactions. Like today when I was trying help a freind have an armoire delivered, I live down the block from a graveyard and its called bochi. The man helping me and I laughed a bit trying to get the directions, it was fun and I think I may have made a new friend. tho we can’t say eachothers names… hehe. Thanks guys.
