Yay for A Blood Types! We’re like half-geniuses!
Thanks for checking out our video blog, James! I heard somewhere that a majority of Japanese people are A blood types. Without a doubt, you’d fit right in!
KY jelly mention was hilarious!
Great Video. You forgot one thing about the O blood type; they make good leaders
BTW, this blood type diet thing you were talking about, I’m doing it and it works really well in fact.
@kanmuri
Thanks for commenting! You’re definitely right about O blood types being good leaders. I think it’s because they’re good at moderating and listening to others.
Great to hear that your blood type diet is working out for you! Do you happen to know anything about dieting for A blood types?? I want to gain weight so I figure if these blood type diets really do work I could do the exact opposite and hopefully pack on a few pounds!
Lol, this was interesting! Had no idea that blood types were that significant in Japan!
I’m pretty sure I’m a B. Don’t fit the description though really, except focusing on only what I want to do! I sound like more of an A though!
@Hanrutmoe
Thanks for the comment Hanrutmoe! Yeah, it’s weird that blood types are so big in Japan. But I gotta say, now that I’ve talked to a lot of people about it, I’m a believer!
B blood types can be really detail-oriented when it comes to things that they’re really into…maybe that’s why you feel like an A blood type?
I’m a O+ and the personality fitted my personality =) does the Rh-factor (+/-) have a special meaning too?
Hello!
This video was great, I cant believe japanese people give so much importance to blood types,though I dont believe in that personality description according to each type. Im an A type and I know many people who are also A and they have the most different and varied personalities. In fact more people I know are A, its the more common blood type. By the way are blood types more important to japanese than zodiac signs when it comes to horoscopes? It’s just that i’ve check out some japanese magazines and they always include the zodiac horoscope.
Also, same as Aaaron I’ve noticed its very common for US people not to know their blood type and I think its strange you know, I mean, how do you do when you have an accident or when you need an urgent blood donation? Its a bit careless…
Here in my country (Colombia) people usually know their blood type, well at least in my city, besides its written in the ID document so we can check it out anytime.
Anyway, keep up the good job, I love this blog and I love to watch videos about japanese culture, and there are so many issues and topics to cover:) How great!!!
hi, interesting vid
the A and B personalities seem to fit in with the common psycology terms established by friedman and rosenman in the 1960’s when they studied the behaviour of pple with coronary heart diseas. the persanality for AB also sounds like what is sometimes known as x type personalitie which is sort of half way between A and B however as far as psycology is concirnded i dont think this has ever had any distinct conection with blood types.
is it this the rout of the blood type personality thing? because friedman and rosenhan could just as easily called them type 1 and type 2 personalities infact origonally they where only focused on type A behaviour as it was linked to CHD the term type B and its associated behaviours were only outlined as a contrast to type A and as behaviours that could make you less prone to CHD.
so was the japanese blood type personaliti thing around before the psycology theory? or is it based on it?
sorry to get all technical in this casual discusion but it just got me thinking ^_^
They use blood types for matchmaking and compatibility in Japan

I got interested so I decided to find out. It appears that my blood type is A. A type is quite common as far as i know. I have RhD negative though (which is a lot more rare) does personality traits differ from RhD or is it just about general type?
