When eating Ramen in Japan, don’t forget to slurp.
May 3rd, 2010
Welcome back for our first real episode of Happy Hour Japan Season 2!
Today, Aaron and I are going to take you on a short trip to a Ramen shop to show you what it’s like and introduce some key works and phrases that you’ll want to know.
Ramen is super popular in Japan is definitely worth checking out when you visit.
No beers in this episode unfortunately, but Kanpai anyway!
Kevin

I think it is a “skill” to be able to slurp noodles w/o getting soup splashed on one’s face! I can’t do it!
Lol, this watching of Japan is getting me excited for when i go! By the way otsukaresama! Cant wait to see more. On a side note i have to be a regular or it runs in my blood, upon starting japanese about 10 months ago i picked up on those tips really fast, along with slurping! Kanpai!
Really wish there was a Kanpain in this episode hahaha. Ohisashiburidesu this season is starting off better than the last one. Cant wait foe your next adventure in japan
I enjoyed this video. It made me hungry. I can’t wait to visit Japan
Aaron and Kevin, Great video and Great to see you out and about together!
Looks like you have acclimated well to living on this side of the Pond, Aaron.
美味しい! らーめんだいすきです!We often eat ramen when out and at home. My Japanese wife makes super tasting ramen! Quick, nutritious and inexpensive. The nice thing about ramen is the various ingredients you can add to it to change up the taste. My Japanese friends eat it much faster than I, and to avoid “collateral slurp damage” I usually take off my glasses when eating ramen. Took some time for me to develop the proper “slurping technique” (じゅるりテクニック). Ramen and beer is a great combination! Can see your temptation, but drinking and driving is strongly frowned upon and punished in Sushiland.
Beers when you get home, eh?
タロー
かんぱい!
I am in Japan right now, and I can not slurp my noodles without either getting it all over, or choking on it. Or both. I keep trying, but it always ends in failure. *hangs head in shame*
i can wait to go to japan
